Better late than never.. Our trip to Switzerland

Work has started again for Mom, not happy at all about that. But we do need to pay rent too, so what to do? Work!

Here are some piccies from our wonderful vacation from our vacation! There will be some pics from Sweden too, but not today.

Ella's 2nd visit to O'ahu!

Fresh off the plane from Sweden we barely had time to unpack before it was time to pack again (albeit in a much smaller bag) and hop on over to O'ahu and Honolulu! This was not purely for our pleasure, Ella had an appointment at Shriner's Children's Hospital to check up on her foot and her neck. We are convinced that she is doing just fine, but we don't mind a weekend over there! This time we rented a car and Mom drove on the freeway for the very first time! Easy peasy lemon squeezy! We stayed at the Waikiki Beach Marriott this time. We got a complimentary upgrade to an ocean view on the 15th floor. Oh boy! What a room! Ella was loving the bed so much that we let her sleep there with us instead of the little crib they had brought up for her.

After the appointment we hit the road and drove up to the North Shore. Kel was contemplating renting a board to surf pipeline, but ended up not doing it. The waves weren't exactly spectacular, but it was still nice to stop by. We also stopped at the Valley of Temples since Kel missed out last time. It is truly a remarkable place!

Then we magically made it back to the airport to return the car, not thanks to the so-called map reader in the passenger seat... Although he did make one contribution once we were almost there that spared us the freeway loop around the airport. I will credit the fact that I did live there for a couple of months.. Missed having Dad's iPhone to tell me where to go, but we made it!

Then back to reality. Maternity leave is officially over! I started working today. It was HARD leaving our beautiful baby!

It's been a while..

Mom and Dad were here and we had a great time! Ella relished the extra attention! She got to do lots and lots of fun stuff! She even got to swim in the pool! An adventure she was actually awake for, for once.
We have also been blessed with a possibly last south swell for the season and tried to surf as much as possible. In the pic you can see yours truly performing a very advanced trick called 'the Cockroach'! Ella likes watching mom and dad surf! She is our judge and a tough one at that!
She started sleeping through the night as well, we are so grateful!! Overall, we think she must be the best baby ever... I suppose that comes with being a parent.
We are getting ready to pack our things and go to Sweden! Hooray! Mommy had to go buy a new pair of pants that fits so I took Ella to the mall. She decided to poop in the changing room.. Interesting place! But Mom is always equipped so we got her a freshie and she had a jolly good time! She also got to sport some VERY old outfits, one of them the gorgeous 'Sverige är fantastiskt' suit, meaning Sweden is Fantastic! It is too small, but so hot I just had to put it on! She is getting really good at holding up her head too! Grows way too fast now!
Well, that's all for now!

Finally! An update!

Ella had a little growthspurt and grew almost two inches and a pound in a week! Wow!

Grandma and Grandpa are here from Sweden and Ella is loving the attention! Four people to cuddle with her (including mommy and daddy of course)!

We went to Oahu for two days because Ella had a doctor's appointment over there to check on her little foot to make sure it grows right. It got stuck in an awkward position in utero and was a bit bent when she came out. But it will be just fine!

We strolled around Waikiki, went shopping at the big Ala Moana shopping center, drove around the island and saw the famed North Shore, with Sunset, Waimea, Pipeline and so on. And we also got to see Valley of the Temples that I had really wanted to see for a long time. Amazing! Beautiful! And if anyone happens to go to Honolulu, don't eat at Hawaiian BBQ, it was not that good, to put it mildly. We do recommend Cholo's in Haleiwa though, but light on the jalapenos! Daddy couldn't come because he had to work, but we sure missed him dearly!

We drove up to Polipoli and Grandma nearly had a heart attack behind the wheel.. the road was baaaad! But we made it in one piece! A little hike down to the redwoods and then a bbq. The throw-away bbq sucked by the way! But patience is a virtue and we eventually got our hot dogs!
