Ella's 2nd visit to O'ahu!

Fresh off the plane from Sweden we barely had time to unpack before it was time to pack again (albeit in a much smaller bag) and hop on over to O'ahu and Honolulu! This was not purely for our pleasure, Ella had an appointment at Shriner's Children's Hospital to check up on her foot and her neck. We are convinced that she is doing just fine, but we don't mind a weekend over there! This time we rented a car and Mom drove on the freeway for the very first time! Easy peasy lemon squeezy! We stayed at the Waikiki Beach Marriott this time. We got a complimentary upgrade to an ocean view on the 15th floor. Oh boy! What a room! Ella was loving the bed so much that we let her sleep there with us instead of the little crib they had brought up for her.

After the appointment we hit the road and drove up to the North Shore. Kel was contemplating renting a board to surf pipeline, but ended up not doing it. The waves weren't exactly spectacular, but it was still nice to stop by. We also stopped at the Valley of Temples since Kel missed out last time. It is truly a remarkable place!

Then we magically made it back to the airport to return the car, not thanks to the so-called map reader in the passenger seat... Although he did make one contribution once we were almost there that spared us the freeway loop around the airport. I will credit the fact that I did live there for a couple of months.. Missed having Dad's iPhone to tell me where to go, but we made it!

Then back to reality. Maternity leave is officially over! I started working today. It was HARD leaving our beautiful baby!

The Marriott up grade sounds great as does seeing Pipeline. Love it when the big waves are breaking.

Brings back nice memories from our trip with Sweet Ella and dear Jessica to Oahu. You just look fantastic Ella in your nice red outfit, like a little model. Looks like you had a great time with mum and dad.
Love Grandma Mona and Grandpa Johnie.
